Simple Pleasures, #14
Whew! After that last post about life’s injustices, I feel a burnin’ yearnin’ to write about something enjoyable! Right now I would like to focus on how great a homemade lunch is. In this day and age of hurry up n git r done, I like to remember that food doesn’t always have to be that way. In fact, I find it downright barbaric to eat a meal in the car. Settle down, y’all! You wouldn’t fulfill any of your other bodily urges in such a terrifically breakneck manner, now would you? I mean, marinate on that for just a wee moment. There’s sleep, toilet, other unmentionables… would you do any of those necessary duties whilst multi-tasking? Naw, prolly not. Take your time. Relaaaaax! And every now and then, when time and life permit, I challenge ye to a homemade lunch. Whether you make it the night/ morning before and eat it in your sad cubicle (I don’t judge, that was my life for a long time), or you actually are able to be home and sit down for a hot meal, I just can’t recommend this enough. Not to mention that eating at home has its own caloric and healthful benefits over eating out in general. Yesterday, I made fancy tacos. I’m a housewife (albeit an unmarried one), so I sorta have the luxury of doing this with the added bonus of the fact that my baby-daddy works for himself and comes home to eat with me every day. So I just wanted to shower this little daily gem with positive feedback. Homemade lunch, I love thee!
